Capy Hour Café was created by the same family behind Big Red's Barn — built through a lifelong love of animals, education, and immersive experiences.
While proudly family-owned and operated under the same hearts that run Big Red's Barn, Capy Hour Café operates as its own unique entity — with a dedicated entrance and exit, creating a specialized, intimate environment centered entirely around our resident capybaras.
Every detail, from the jungle-inspired décor to the cozy café seating, has been thoughtfully designed to make your visit feel truly one-of-a-kind.

From the moment you walk through our doors, you're transported into a lush, biophilic jungle escape inspired by the capybaras' native home of Brazil.

Our café has been intentionally designed with warm textures, layered greenery, natural wood tones, and jungle-inspired décor that simulates the wetlands and rainforests where capybaras thrive in the wild.

Meet Our
Capybaras 🐾
Miguel and Mario
Say hello to Miguel and Mario, our favorite duo and the heart of the café. Born in January 2026, these brothers are already stealing the show, Miguel, the confident big brother, and Mario, the slightly smaller (but equally charming) sidekick.
They may be little now, but don’t be fooled, these boys will grow into full-sized capybaras, eventually tipping the scales at over 100 lbs. Through it all, they’ll remain the official ambassadors of the café, helping guests connect with animals in a calm, respectful, and hands-on way.
When they’re not greeting guests, you’ll find them doing what they do best: swimming, snacking on their favorite leafy kale (stems are absolutely not invited), and soaking up belly scratches. Pro tip: if you’ve got fake nails, you’re basically their favorite person.
Miguel and Mario are raised with care, enrichment, and plenty of love so their personalities can shine just as much as their whiskers. 💛
